Banneker adds another big time win to the season, this time against a ranked Chapel Hill team that came down to overtime. Junior guard Treshaun Lewis had big time performance in the win scoring 28 points in the win. Lewis caught fire from the perimeter shooting over 50% from three. He is great in the fast break offense and finishes well at the rim in traffic. Lewis showed his clutch capabilities with several free throws in late in the 4th and overtime that kept the Trojans in a one possession game or gave them to lead that secured the win in OT. Lewis transferred to Banneker from South Gwinnett but is definitely on our 2025 watch list.

Midtown has a nice duo in 26' F Darrion Hadley and 25' G Luke Finley. They both are capable of creating their own offense when needed and play well together within the team offense. Finley has great playmaking capabilities from the point guard position and displayed his ability to take defenders off the dribble with crafty handling and finishes that led to highlight plays. He was big time down the stretch in the road win against Mays and finished with 15 points in the win. Hadley is aggressive downhill with the ball in his hands inside the perimeter. He had several possessions were he took the game in his own hands and made plays to score off isolation. He has a great feel to know whether to use his size or speed to score and doesn't rush his tempo to attack which is key for any great scorer. The standout sophomore led all scorers with 24 points in the win. Keep an eye on these two as Midtown looks to score a spot in the state tournament through region play.

Dacula has a pure scorer in 24' G Jaden Mattison. Mattison skillset and feel for the game is special. He had several plays of scoring through multiple levels of defense with crafty elite finishes that separate him from guards with similar attributes. The standout senior has posted multiple 20+ scoring performances this season and continues to show consistency which is key for any great scorer. Mattison led the Falcons to a win on the road at Central Gwinnett that spoiled senior night and led all scorers with 24 points. He had big time baskets that broke the Knights momentum and gave his team the push to ultimately secure the lead late in the 4th. Look for the Falcons to make a run in the 7A bracket.

2024 G CJ Winters is an high motor guy out of Chapel Hilll. Winters is highly effective down hill as slasher. Once he gets going he's incredibly hard to stop from reaching the paint and playing above the rim. He has quick first step that's hard to stay in front of and has a nice handle to pair with this attribute. Winters has nice balance between speed and strength that he uses to get past defenders and finish through contact around the rim against smaller and bigger opponents. Winters is a key part in Chapel Hill's offense and was a major part of the game reaching overtime and nearly came out with the steal win on the road after falling behind late in the 4th. Winters finished with 23 points against Banneker and will be on notice as Chapel Hill makes as state run.

Mays has a special talent with Derron Lindsey in the class of 2024. For starters he's in the 1000 point club and is true competitor that leaves it all on the court. He plays with a true passion for the game that is rare in today's athletes. Lindsey is dangerous with the ball in his hands with his crafty handle, speed and quickness that leads to a lot of blow by opportunities to create in the offense. The senior standout can shoot spot up or off the dribble and wants to attack defenders to facilitate ,which keeps defenders guessing on his next move. Mays came up short against Midtown, but Lindsey was and is the catalyst in Raiders offense with his playmaking ability and led multiple runs to attempt to take the lead in the 4th, including consecutive scoring possessions that gave Mays a chance to win late. Lindsey is the engine that will determine how far Mays reaches come tournament time.
