Jackson Mckvey 7’ 2025 Gilmer County
It was good to know a coach that’s on his trail and I had the same report regarding his game. He checks all the boxes you want in a 7-foot prospect. Defends, plays above the rim, can knock down the 3 and run the floor. He was dominant in every way against Burke county to the point he blocked everything that came in the post.

Miles George 6’3 G 2025 Sprayberry
Miles had a quick trigger and knocked down shots from all over the court. He can handle the ball well, shoot off the dribble or catch and shoot, super smooth touch. Lock him in for the season. The team will rely on him to be a leader as he was helping keep his teammates emotions in checks on multiple possessions. Very feisty group and Miles will look to fill up the stat sheet night in and night out and look to build off last season’s success.

MJ Madison 6’8 F 2026 Alexander
Madison displayed a nice motor and good energy that will help Alexander not miss a beat. Good size at the wing spot, can put the ball on the floor, finish in traffic, and knock down the J. Loved how aggressive he was against Wheeler showing he is not afraid of the spotlight or big time matchups.

Caesar Burrows 6’3 G Walton 2025
Really high IG guard. Didn’t find many as smooth as him over the weekend. He got to his spots well, had exceptional foot work and crafty. Did a good job feeding his teammates and putting them in scoring positions and running the offense. Good size at 6’3 and shows it when attacking the rim. He led his team to a victory over Decatur who they were bigger than as whole but struggled a bit against Newton with guys his size and a tad more physical. All in all, he is a well-rounded prospect, and as long as his teammates and staff keep pushing him, get him to play a bit angrier, I can see his stock easily rising.

Jacob Wilkins 6’9 F 2025 Grayson
Jacob was on a mission this weekend and came into championship Sunday with a vengeance. What I love about JW especially being the son of a hall of famer, he still plays with a chip on his shoulder. He lets you know he’s here, he’s in your face, he knows when the cameras are out and will intentionally go out and put on a show no matter who’s guarding him. I saw from him in that matchup what I saw back in his early days at Parkview which was a kid who was playing the game free flowing, letting it come to him, and being aggressive offensively knowing they had the size advantage. He’s known for his acrobatic jams, defensive efforts, and ability to fly up and down the court, but when the jumper is falling, he can score in batches and really fill the stat sheet up. Grayson is doing a very good job molding him and getting him prepared for his role at the next level but he also accepts that there will be games where his number Is called and there will be games where they just need his energy and efforts. Stock rising performance.

Amir Taylor 6’8 F 2025 Grayson
After all is said and done, he might have been the MVP on the weekend, and that’s heavy emphasis on valuable. Immovable object in the post but can still make guard like reads due to his vision. His ability to get in position and work in the post as well had me referring to him as more of a “Power guard” than a “Point Forward”. His strength Is what is key to his success because once he gets position its done. Effective back to the basket game, lived at the ft line and has stamina being a player that Grayson can usually leave on the court until he asks for a quick breather. Big time performances which led to Grayson winning their bracket.

Jordan Green 6’7 F/G 2026 Newton
Loved his size and ability to turn into a 3 and D type of player in the hands of Newton coaching staff. The group as a whole hold each other accountable and will also push him and get him to that level to be truly effective. Long slender frame, confident shooter, fights for rebounds and can put the ball on the floor.

Jason Welborn 6’3 G 2026 Decatur
There are quite a few pieces over at Decatur high and JW tabbed himself as a name to really pay attention to. I had a post about him from last summer where he was torching the nets and scoring at will, and he did the same at GBCA. To be a 2026 prospect he plays like he’s been around the HS game for a while. Good motor can score on 3 levels and does a good job getting his teammates involved. It will be all about trusting the process and vision Coach Welsh has which will lead to proper development and a pretty filled resume once his high school career is done. Definitely one to watch.

Will Myles 5’10 G 2026 Etowah
I had been seeing the name a lot via social media and finally checked in. Will brings a different dynamic to Etowah and will have this team playing with a lot of grit and smart basketball. He plays quick so his teammates will have to keep up, but a team like Etowah playing fast is dangerous enough. The team is equipped with multiple shooters who Will was able to pinpoint and feed regularly throughout the contest. He has a quick first step and effective mid-range pull up. Etowah is going to be a team to keep an eye on behind Will. 

Sean Van Dort 6’5 G Tri-Cities
Physical guard who brings a DMV swagger to the south. 3 level scorer who can get to his spots with minimal dribbles. Had most of his success in transition and driving to the basket. He will be a focal point for this group moving forward due to size and ability to score. This is one of the deepest Tri Cities group in a while and SVD will look to continue turning heads.

Favion Kirkwood 6’3 G 2025 Johnson-Savannah
Was one of the leading scorers in state finals loss for his team as a jr. Comes into his sr season as a focal point and player ready to take over the reins. Solid mid-range jumper, can get to his spots, plays with a lot of grit and is a true leader.

Jake Taylor 6’2 G 2025 Wheeler
Fundamentally sound. Quick release shooter, who can knock it down on the move or catch and shoot. Did a good job putting the ball on the floor and finishing in traffic as well. Will be one of Wheelers go to option for a bucket.

Jerrin Samuel 6’5 G/F 2026 Winder Barrow/ Jordan Samuel 6/7 F 2025 Winder Barrow
The Samuel bros were a fun watch over the weekend and brought some attention to WB. Jordan (5) the older and taller bro had a smooth game. His shooting was effortless, he has good size and made some high iq basketball plays. He was very fluid in his motions and created an effective 1-2 punch with his brother.

Younger brother Jerrin (12) was also one to watch playing just as fluid and confident even though he is just a rising jr. He played the game a bit more care free and was having fun with it. He was scoring from all over the floor, always moving cutting and looking for open reads. Strong lefty guard with high upside.

Amare James 6’3 G 2026 Wheeler
Had a special performance against Grayson in the championship game. 6’5 guard that can score in bunches, get to the line and play aggressive. He can beat his man off the dribble with ease and had a effective mid-range pull up. He had a big-time transition jam that really showed he has some dog in him as well.

Yusef Bowyer 5’10 G 2025 Cedar Grove
Really likes what he brings to CG and could be a key figure to molding everything together. Good twitchy guard with a blazing first step, can score in bunches, and likes to get his teammates involved.
